TALENT SHOW A POPULAR ATTRACTION

Talent appears in abundance for the Port Costa Talent Show on Sunday, July 16, as the lineup of performers topped 20 acts, near capacity, by mid-April -- dancers, singers, musicians and comedy acts – for the 2006 fund-raising event. Performers from age 8 to 80 are on the program – tap dancers, Taiko drummers, singers, acoustic bands, dancing grapes, the Non-Non-Blondes and a group called The Walkettes are among the roster of aspiring stars.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help restore the 1911 Port Costa School building. The show is sponsored by the Port Costa Conservation Society.

The Talent Show starts at 2 p.m., the gate opens at noon. Food and drink will be sold – delicious barbecue chicken and Tri-tips, and ice cold beverages. The show is held on a stage built on the front steps of the school. The audience sits in the comfortable shade of a giant tent. Admission is $5, children under 12 are free.

Volunteers are welcome to help put on the show. To volunteer or for more information call (510) 787-2254.

WELCOME TO THE PORT COSTA TALENT SHOW

The first Port Costa Talent Show was held over 20 years ago in a little park at the end of town.  It was a neighborhood affair and people brought their own chairs and refreshments.  Since 1994, the Port Costa Talent Show has been staged as a public event at the Port Costa School.  The show is now put on every other year by volunteers as a fund raiser to help restore the old 1911 school building.  The Port Costa Talent Show is unmatched entertainment.

TALENT SHOW SLATE PROMISES MEMORABLE ENTERTAINMENT

Ever since a dog howled in harmony with a clarinet, the Port Costa Talent Show has been an integral part of the Contra Costa County entertainment and cultural scene.  This year's program continues this local show-biz tradition.

The Port Costa Talent Show is produced entirely by volunteers.  The Port Costa Conservation Society thanks in advance the many friends and neighbors who are working, both on stage and behind the scenes, to make the 2006 Port Costa Talent Show a success.
